About Wes

wes4.jpg I’m a 29 year old husband, father, youth pastor , worship leader, and business owner in Clinton, TN. I run my business, Frontlines Creative, from home so I can spend more time with my wife, Brooke, and children, Isaiah, Emma, and Joel. I also serve as the Youth President for the Tri-State District of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ , an Apostolic Pentecostal organization of churches.

Here’s how it all breaks down for me: I believe that everyone chooses a truth for their life. They make their life revolve around that truth, and that truth defines their world view. However, I believe that while people may choose a truth, that there is only one Truth — the Big T . I mean, after all, there can’t really be more than one truth can there?

Let me give you an example. Jim McGreevey recently stepped out of the closet as a homosexual, leaving his wife and children for that lifestyle. In his announcement he said, "My truth is that I am a gay American". Now, that sounds rational, but let’s break it down. "My truth"? We live in a world of 6 billion people. If each of us were truly allowed to have our own "truth" we would be a planet gone wild (we’re close enough already). So what is that "truth" — the little t? It’s our own opinion and our own will. The Truth for McGreevey is the same as it is for all of us. But his opinion so tainted that Truth that he was convinced that it was not only rational, but indeed necessary to leave his family. That’s not his truth, it’s his desire .

The banner at the top of this page quotes Proverbs 23:23

"Buy the truth and sell it not."

What is the cost of truth? You can never purchase it with money, time, hard work, or anything else other than your opinion. If you want Truth — the Big T — you must give up your opinion. I mean, really. Who would ever stand up in Geometry and say, "No, ma’am. You’re wrong. A triangle has four sides of equal value." Do you see? You can no more have your own version of Truth than you can have your own version of the triangle.

So here’s my blog. I’ll be trying my best to keep my opinion out of things, and focus on the Big T. My wife and I have a strong marriage, and we’re bound by a common purpose — we live for Truth. It’s what we seek in everything, and if you’ve read this far I have a feeling that you’re a seeker, too.

God bless. Enjoy the site, and feel free to contact me at any time.
